The roots of this journey trace back to the establishment of Wadiyar Fine Arts by Sri Basava Lingam Wadiyar, laying the foundation for a family tradition dedicated to sculptural excellence.
Rajkumar Wadiyar was born on March 23 in Nattarameswaram, Andhra Pradesh, into a family deeply connected to the sculptural arts, continuing a proud artistic lineage.
Under the guidance of his father, a renowned traditional sculptor, he trained through the guru–shishya tradition, mastering classical principles like Shilpa Shastra and Vastu Shastra.
Entering the world of professional sculpture, he began creating lifelike works, blending traditional knowledge with artistic precision and expression.
Over time, his work evolved into large-scale creations, producing hundreds of bronze sculptures and thousands of fibreglass works installed across India and beyond.
His sculptures of leaders, freedom fighters, social reformers, and cultural icons became part of public spaces, universities, and institutions, connecting people with heritage through art.
The establishment of Shrinadha Ratna Shilpakala Seva Samstha marked a significant milestone focused on preserving traditional sculpture, promoting education, and supporting artisans through exhibitions and awards like the Wadiyar Puraskar.
